We have two exciting permanent full-time opportunities for you to join our System Planning Branch based in Brisbane CBD!Job details Position status PermanentPosition type Full-timeOccupational group Policy & PlanningClassification AO7Workplace Location Brisbane Inner CityJob ad reference QLD/CPSS580697Closing date 11-Aug-2024Yearly salaryFortnightly salaryTotal remunerationSalary OtherJob durationContact person Julie JohnContact details (07) 3708 5467Access theThe roleThis Principal Planning Officer will contribute to the development of statewide service and/or system planning for Queensland Health through research, analysis and interpretation of data and information.Your key responsibilities:Develop statewide/system service needs analysis, statewide plans, system positions and other statewide planning products, to inform future service, policy, governance, planning and purchasing/commissioning decisionsUndertake health service/system research and critical analysis of qualitative and quantitative data and information to identify future priorities and issues for Queensland Health, to inform the efficient use of resources to create a sustainable health system, influence health service delivery and reform, and maximise the health gain for the Queensland population.Develop and present research, analysis, options and recommendations for strategic policy and service/system planning activities based on international, national and state current evidence/practice.Develop and or contribute to the preparation of timely and well researched high-level briefing documents, submissions, discussion papers, correspondence and reports.Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.The successful personYou will have demonstrated:Ability to develop service planning or system planning products in a large, complex service delivery organisation.Strong research and critical analysis skills including the ability to translate health literature, analyse data (at a minimum, experience with Microsoft Excel is required) and information to develop a range of products including system assessments, strategic or statewide service plans, reports, briefs, discussion papers, submissions and presentations.Ability to project manage, complex and time-critical projects, including the ability to respond and adapt to changing priorities and competing demands.High level written communication skills, including ability to compile reports, discussion papers, presentations and submissions.High level verbal communication skills and achievements in cultivating productive working relationships, partnerships and teamwork and negotiate outcomes and effectively represent the interests of the Department in dealings with stakeholders.About usThe Department of Health is responsible for the overall management of the public health system in Queensland.
