The performance of the duties must ensure a quality service approach to all employees, customers and suppliers. All responsibilities must be performed in a manner consistent with the Farm Boy Way.Major ResponsibilitiesInstall, maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment within the plant to ensure the ongoing and reliable operation of plant equipment and systems to maintain targeted throughput and efficiency standardsAssess, report on, promote and carry out process improvements initiatives, specifically with regard to machine and/or system reliability and improved performancePerform all daily checks as per TSSA requirements on the ammonia & water tower systems and manage TSSA inspection visits and be the direct contact with inspector on corrective actionsAssist with setting up and maintaining the preventive maintenance program, carry out maintenance activities, work orders, and replacement or repair of defective parts, components or system performance testing and update files and records of work and equipment as requiredPerform part replacement using manufacturing recommendations and update maintenance and parts records using a computerized maintenance management systemEvaluate condition of instrumentation, devices and parts in operations by checking calibration, listening to their sounds, verifying pressures, temperatures, etc. to detect imperfectionsMaintain files, records, line diagrams, etc. of electrical and instrumentation equipment and installationsComplete required documentation, log books, timesheets, etc. when executing duties to ensure complianceAdhere to and fully participate in the company's Food Safety, Health & Safety, Environmental and Management system and maintain a safe and clean work environment at all timesDirect and lead contractors during plant shutdowns and assist in the set up of new stores, installations and project work as requiredRespond to “off” hours emergencies as required and be on scheduled “on call” rotation as well as provide essential services coverage during plant shutdowns and Statutory holidays Work in a self-directed manner by managing time and tasks to complete work assignedChampion and implement at least one continuous improvement activity each yearMay be requested to undertake other related duties on a periodic basisQualifications2+ years of experience in Refrigeration and equipment maintenance and repairs with current Ammonia Refrigeration Operator Class B licenseExperience with CMMS would be considered an assetStrong computer skills and ability to read, write and/or interpret reports, mechanical and civil drawings and sketchesGood time management skills and ability to work independently with little supervisionGood organizational skills with high standards of cleanlinessPersonable and outgoing with strong communication skillsAbility to climb ladder and use general maintenance tools and equipmentKnowledge of Food, Health and Safety regulations in a manufacturing environmentDependable, trustworthy and must be bondableFlexible as to hours and days of work with the ability to travelCertification in CPR/First Aid would be an assetWork & Sensory EnvironmentOccasional requirement to wear cumbersome protective clothing or equipmentPossible exposure to dangerous or unpleasant environmental elements such as dirt or dust, extreme temperatures and adverse weather conditions for driving and/or for outdoor workWill be required to lift, carry and/or handle heavy objectsAdditional InformationREFGTAAccommodation is available upon request for applicants and employees with disabilities.Farm Boy
