We have been transforming lives for over 40 years and are founded on two principles: to find new solutions to old problems and to deliver them with the whole community.In Health, by increasing the uptake of the NHS Cancer screening programmes and raising awarenessJob DescriptionCommunity Links holds several commissions to deliver national cancer screening promotion services and cancer early detection projects in the community.We are looking for bilingual women to act as Health Facilitators to help us increase the uptake of breast and cervical cancer screening across London.Owing to the nature of this work, we can only accept applications from women. This is a genuine occupational requirement, as covered by the Equality Act 2010.Duties and ResponsibilitiesContacting patients invited for screening from different boroughs in London, via telephone interviews.Supporting cancellation and rescheduling of appointments, finding out about the reasons behind “not attending” or 'not participating' persuading patients to take part in the programmes.Telephoning will take place from different GP practices across London. An Excel monitoring form will be filled in that gives information on the calls and the responses.QualificationsGCSE level of education is essentialPractical skillsTelephone interviews/callsBilingual: English with RomanianIT literate: good knowledge of Microsoft ExcelTyping skillsAdditional InformationSalary: £13.50 x hourContract: SessionalReports to: Lead Project OfficerHours: Ad hoc arrangement to meet varying needs of projects (will include daytime, evenings and weekends)There is a probationary period of two months.This post will be based at various locations across London and may involve some evening and weekend work.You will be employed by Community Links as a sessional worker.
