This role is accountable for providing quality R&D legal support for projects of a medium complexity using a mature knowledge of regulatory law, business development, and contracting and having the ability to apply that strategically as well as a current knowledge of the relevant business activities. The role supports key strategic initiatives across the R&D/Global Product Strategy legal team and will also be accountable for a portfolio of work that may include asset or portfolio platform programs and may support other topics as needed.

Provides strategic legal advice and support for a portfolio that may include assets/platforms and projects assigned to manage

Provides overarching strategic support for projects with high impact for the team, including in new areas of legal focus or key priorities that may arise from time to time

Accountable for support for a number of issues management teams that may arise from time to time

Partners with Compliance to appropriately and discretely resolve any issues arising from the conduct of R&D or Global Product strategy activities

Supports the implementation of strategic legal objectives for the team, including support for any training initiatives for the R&D/Global Product Strategy legal team
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

University degree qualification or equivalent tertiary education qualification
-
Qualified legal practitioner admitted to practise in England and Wales with a current practising certificate
-
Strong legal skills, particularly in identifying and counselling on legal risks and issues, combined with high integrity and sound commercial acumen
-
Expertise in clinical regulations, and understanding of intellectual property licenses, related research and development activities, familiarity with commercial regulations

Ability to engage proactively, influence and interact effectively with Legal colleagues, commercial clients and senior management
-
A self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team, and manage numerous matters and competing priorities effectively
