This position offers a hybrid working model paying from £41,795 to £53,061 along with a market leading benefits package.

Here's what you'll be doing

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to join a large renowned organisation, supporting the growth part of the business. This role would suit a candidate that is currently a part qualified accountant (ACMA or equivalent) and offers a great opportunity to develop key skills and experience for a successful career in Finance. The Finance Team support the business to achieve these ambitious growth plans in a controlled way, your core focuses being highlighted through the following:
Production off monthly management accounts and reporting
Production of budgets & forecasts
Ad-hoc analysis to support business decisions & drive process efficiency and control through the Finance function and operations.

This role will offer the hybrid working approach, where you will be working in the office (Trinity Square - Nottingham) 2-3 days a week.

Responsibilities

This role is for a finance professional to support the delivery of financial performance, planning, reporting and support for this area of the business. You will work with the Finance Manager & Senior Finance Business Partners to monitor business performance, set challenging targets while optimising efficiency and controls across the area.

  • Delivery of accurate and timely management accounts and month end reporting.
  • Ensuring all key stakeholders are provided with comprehensive financial support covering their actual and forecasted gross margin and costs
  • Identification and clear communication of Risks & Opportunities within area of responsibility.
  • Challenge areas of cost inefficiency, control weakness and expenditure above forecast and plan.
  • Build relationships with key customers (e.g. Operational direct reports of Operations Director and their teams) and stakeholders within Finance, and wider E.ON businesses.
  • To deliver ad hoc decision support and analytics to the Finance Manager & Senior Finance Business Partners, including the financial appraisal of investment proposals, benefits reviews, etc.
  • To provide input to the planning process on the financial impacts of any planned Operational efficiency and effectiveness initiatives
  • Exhibit exemplary behaviours and create and promote an environment which strives for continuous improvement and the implementation of best practice
  • Improve processes and continue to drive efficiency within the Finance team, utilising support from other specialist areas as and when required.

What we need from you

Essential skill requirements

  • Part-Qualified finance professional (ACMA or equivalent) or alternatively a finance professional that has experience of working within finance teams.
  • Previous experience in financial planning and reporting with demonstrable understanding of and improving core finance processes, controls, management accounting, forecasting and reporting.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and present it in a clear and logical format.
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to deliver financial results clearly to non-finance personnel.
  • Ability to plan, determine priorities and work to meet tight deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal and influencing skills to challenge the business in its profitability and cost management performance.
  • Good levels of financial and commercial acumen.
  • Strong Excel and system skills.
  • Energy, drive, determination, and enthusiasm.

Desirable

  • Ability to proactively identify key issues and opportunities, create clarity and insight and provide effective support and challenge to senior customers and stakeholders.
  • Prior experience of challenging, influencing and negotiating with stakeholders.
  • Prior experience of driving change through ways of working, identifying opportunities for commercial optimisation and unlocking value.
  • Prior experience of working in a Finance in a retail environment.
  • Awareness of power BI
