Digital Marketing Manager

£39,000 to £45,000

Permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week)

Hybrid working with regular travel to our London Bridge Office

What the job involves

As part of the Digital team, you’ll be taking a strategic lead on the delivery of our digital marketing across social media, email, display advertising, search engine marketing and content optimisation. Over the past few years, these have been huge growth areas for us as we engage the public to help us achieve our ambitious strategy, to save and improve the lives of men affected by prostate cancer.

You’ll be working closely and collaboratively with a range of colleagues across the organisation to get the best possible results from our digital marketing. From raising awareness of the increased risk of prostate cancer in black men, to national fundraising events such as the March for Men, to brand-building campaigns and truly engaging ways to rally passionate football, cycling, music, running, political and health communities to our cause, you’ll be leading the way on a range of exciting projects with purpose.

You’ll work closely with the integrated marketing lead and support our team of creative marketing officers to deliver innovative campaigns inhouse, and to lead the relationship with our performance agency. You will be the expert in the room and advise colleagues across the charity. We welcome creative thinking that helps the charity punch above its weight in a crowded market.

What we want from you

You will be able to critique, advise and support on campaign strategy and creative with a love of data and insightful analysis. You have solid experience in paid and organic social media campaigns, particularly on Meta, plus a good knowledge of email marketing and PPC campaigns.

Having worked in a busy digital or comms team before, you know how to balance competing priorities and use your experience and interpersonal skills to quickly build rapport and trust with a range of stakeholders. You have the ability to provide expert advice to help other teams make better use of digital channels and you’ve successfully developed people you’ve managed to improve their performance.

You understand digital marketing technology and analytics and are comfortable using GA4 and other methods to get the information you need to create meaningful reports and recommendations.

Why work with us?

Every man needs to know about the most common cancer in men – prostate cancer. It’s a real and present danger that takes over 12,000 of our dads, grandads, brothers and friends each year.

Prostate Cancer UK is the largest men’s health charity in the UK. We have a simple ambition – to stop prostate cancer damaging lives. We invest millions in research to revolutionise testing, treatment and care. We’re blazing a trail to a screening programme that could save thousands of lives with regular, accurate tests for all men at risk. And we work tirelessly to spread the word about risk and offer specialist support to people living with the disease.

Work with us and you’ll see your efforts pay off as we give men and their families the power to navigate prostate cancer.

What we offer

Join our team and be part of an award-winning charity. We’ll support you to develop your skills and expertise.

We offer a competitive benefits package, including:

  • Generous leave entitlements that increase with service
  • One ‘development day’ a month to use for training or personal development
  • Enhanced contributory pension scheme
  • Life insurance and group income protection
  • Health Cash Plan
  • Life and wellbeing advice and support via our Employee Assistance Programme
  • Discounted gym membership and high street shopping discounts
  • Loans for season tickets or cycles

Our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion

At Prostate Cancer UK, we believe that equity, diversity and inclusion are essential to building a strong and innovative workplace, that represents, and can advocate for, the communities we support. It’s our ambition to become an anti-racist organisation, and our mission to advance racial equity in the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer.

We’re incredibly proud of our new Black Men’s Racial Health Equity Campaign, and our inclusive learning journey. We know that reaching marginalised communities that need us most, particularly Black men who are at a higher risk of prostate cancer, starts with better representation in our organisation. Therefore, we’re particularly interested in applications from those from marginalised and vulnerable communities. This will help us create an environment of inclusion where everyone can bring their authentic selves to work, where personal qualities are as important as professional experience, and our people feel seen and heard.

Our people networks

We’re learning more about the needs of our colleagues, and we’re excited to have recently launched three new people networks, sponsored by our Leadership team:

  • Pride – A safe space where LGBTQ+ colleagues — and our allies — can share their diverse lived experiences, celebrate LGBTQ+ culture and history, and create new ideas about how our organisation can be more inclusive and representative of LGBTQ+ people
  • Mind & Body – Here to increase awareness, promote wellbeing and support colleagues affected by neurodiversity, mental health problems, disability and long-term illness
  • Multicultural – Here to increase awareness and celebrate the different cultures and beliefs that we have in the organisation, so that we all have our cultures felt and feel welcomed

Wellbeing and hybrid working

Our hybrid working approach combines the best of flexible working – a positive work/life balance, inclusive and accessible platforms, and online information at our fingertips. We understand that everyone has different needs, and we strive to create opportunities for relationship building, collaboration and social time.

Each of our teams has a team agreement outlining when and how often we’re expected to be in our London Bridge office. We’re very welcome to work there more frequently. Office time is a commute, so we pay our own travel costs.

For this role, we would expect the successful candidate to be coming into the London office 2 to 3 days per month.

There will also be a need to attend in person meetings with agency partners in London when required.
