North Kent Mind are excited to offer this opportunity for aspiring Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) Therapists who want to train with the University of Sussex to start their long-term career in the NHS talking therapies service. NHS TT (formally known as IAPT – Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) service.
The University of Sussex in partnership with North Kent Mind are looking to recruit and train Trainee High-Intensity CBT Therapists as part of the NHS Talking Therapies for Anxiety and Depression programme. They train individuals to deliver evidence-based psychological therapies on an NHS funded one year full-time Postgraduate Diploma in Psychological Intervention (CBT).
Teaching will delivered on the Brighton Falmer campus on Mondays & Tuesdays from September 2023. There will be a four day a week block in October which will be split between online and face to face.
These are rare opportunities within an organisation that also provides a rich range of other services – such as employment, wellbeing and long-term counselling.
NHS TT therapists work is flexible and varied, with both remote and in-person work (at various sites in North Kent), as well as opportunities to run groups and utilise online modules. By arrangement, a balance of home and office work is the norm.
The workforce is supported through regular line- and clinical supervision, and workers also highlight the support available from colleagues as a clear advantage. A 24/7 Employee helpline is also available. CPD is encouraged at both trainee and qualified level, giving all staff the opportunity to grow and influence the delivery of the services in which they work.
By joining North Kent Mind you would become part of the network of over 125 local Mind organisations, which together have built the first class reputation of the Mind organisation throughout England and Wales.
