Then the role of FY3 Doctor at Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT) would be perfect for you.

At LYPFT we absolutely understand that extending your knowledge and learning is important to you. The role of FY3 Doctor is not a training post but is committed to supporting your development in a Teaching Hospital environment. We can give you the freedom to gain supervised experience and exposure in a variety of areas, extending your knowledge and learning prior to entering specialty training.

LYPFT rates highly in the GMC survey for overall trainee satisfaction. We currently proudly host the Yorkshire & Humber Higher Trainee of the year and the Director of Medical Education has a track record for innovation in training as an outstanding contributor to Health Education England Better Training Better Care project.

This is an opportunity to gain experience in Psychiatry at Core Trainee level as part of the Leeds and Wakefield Core Training Scheme. The Trust is keen to support the on-going development and career progression of a Post Foundation Fellow who will work with a Royal College approved Educational Supervisor who will provide both educational and clinical supervision.

Protected time is built into FY3 Doctor timetables to attend the monthly continued professional development academic training programme of the Core Training Scheme.

We are a high quality, high performing NHS foundation trust. We are the main provider of specialist mental health and learning disability services in Leeds. We also provide specialist inpatient services in York as well as some highly specialised services across the country.

Our vision is to provide outstanding mental health and learning disability services as an employer of choice. Our ambition is to support our service users and carers, our staff and the communities we serve to live healthy and fulfilling lives. We need people like you to help us achieve our goals; to live our lives free from stigma and discrimination; and to improve the lives of people with a learning disability and mental ill health.
We perform well against local and national targets and in our most recent CQC inspection, 85% of our services were rated good or outstanding.
As a teaching trust with strong links to local universities, we are a centre of excellence for teaching, research and development.

You will benefit from the guidance of a Clinical Supervisor and Educational Supervisor who will support in your development and have an entitlement to study leave. We will work with you to agree a rotation that is tailored to your learning needs. In addition, you will take part in out of hours cover, providing further learning opportunity where you will be supported by senior colleagues to continue enhancing your knowledge and skills.

We understand that you need the freedom to explore exciting personal experiences, as an FY3 Doctor we can offer you the opportunity to achieve a positive work life balance and enable you the opportunity to take an unpaid leave.
