The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and a desire to grow within the field of accounting.Responsibilities:Accounting Support: Assist in maintaining accurate payroll-related accounting records, including general ledger entries and reconciliations.Account Reconciliation: Perform reconciliations of payroll accounts, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded and discrepancies are addressed promptly.Journal Entries: Prepare and post payroll journal entries to the general ledger, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with accounting standards.Financial Reporting: Contribute to the preparation of payroll-related financial reports, including budget vs. actual analysis and other ad-hoc financial reports as needed.Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation and filing of payroll-related tax returns, including quarterly and annual tax reports.Internal Controls: Support the development and maintenance of internal controls related to payroll to ensure accuracy and prevent fraud.Audit Preparation: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries related to payroll and accounting records.Policy Adherence: Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as federal and state regulations concerning payroll and accounting.Qualifications/Skills:Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related fieldPrior payroll accounting experienceInsurance industry experience is preferredVaco
