Randstad is proud to partner with a public sector client seeking a dedicated Property Officer to join their team. This role involves delivering practical and customer-focused advice across the organisation's for property interest acquisitions, primarily in compulsory acquisition settings. The Property Officer will lead effective engagement and negotiations with landowners impacted by these projects.Key Responsibilities:Lead compulsory acquisition processes under the Acquisition of Land Act.Engage with landowners regarding property acquisitions by the Council, often involving political or sensitive issues.Deliver strategic planning for property interest acquisitions related to linear infrastructure, managing complex tenure arrangements.Utilize negotiation skills to communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders, ensuring successful outcomes for capital projects.Coordinate the delivery of specialist advice to support property transactions, including independent valuations, town planning, and legal advice.Skills & Experience Required:Previous experience in land acquisition (both negotiation and compulsory acquisition), particularly with the Acquisition of Land Act 1967 and associated processes.Proven track record in leading property transactions, including land, easements, and access for infrastructure projects.Qualifications in property, law, valuation, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.Demonstrated high-level communication skills (both verbal and written) with the ability to provide timely and thorough advice on property acquisitions.Strong negotiation skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders.Experience in a Local Government environment is highly regarded.It is expected that the successful candidate will possess strong oral/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
