Job Introduction
BBC Cymru Wales Operations is home to a large in-house Post Production facility. Delivering exceptional creative, storytelling and technical skills to our production teams and audiences. Expanding on your existing technical proficiency, a key part of the role is to make the very best use of equipment available to you at our new home in Central Square, pushing the boundaries for our frontline broadcast and streaming services.
Main Responsibilities
The Post Production Editor will provide high end editing and finishing across all our output. You will have experience across a range of genres, including fast turnaround edits, multicam and EVS workflows. You will use grading equipment and plugins to both colour correct or produce a specific look, mix audio to R128 in the Avid, and prepare and create deliverables to various specs. You will be able to judge broadcast quality in sound and vision, and take ownership of an edit through to a TX deadline.
Are you the right candidate?
We are looking for an experienced, fast and creative Editor, with excellent storytelling skills, a passion for all genres, and an interest in Sport. You will work closely with production teams, both at BBC Wales and on O.B.’s, taking an active role in the production process. You will have experience in a wide range of software packages to offline, online, grade and manipulate media including graphics. You will be a highly motivated self-starter able to work unpredictable, unsociable hours and efficiently to deadlines. You will also have good interpersonal and communication skills, together with first class planning and organisational abilities. You will have considerable experience in editing. Knowledge of Avid and Interplay are essential, along with an understanding of transmission and technical standards for delivery.
