Due to industry expansion, the John Holland Infrastructure business is currently seeking a Design Manager for an upcoming $450m Water Infrastructure project in regional NSW.Responsibilities of the role include:Plan and control the delivery of project design to ensure the achievement of quality, completion and project objectivesSelect and engage, then monitor the performance of external design partners within the discipline including their deliverables, costs and timeframesManage the design approval process in accordance with project requirements and programPrepare budgets and schedules of design delivery for management approval then manage and report the cost of design delivery in the project life cycleManage design to ensure the cost of the works meets project requirementsDemonstrate commercial and contractual awareness in dealing with clients and external design partnersManage client and stakeholder expectations and communicate effectively with the project teamSupervise the work of subordinate design and drafting staff to ensure project requirements are metSelect and develop design management staff within the project by providing leadership and mentoring to ensure their design management competenciesUnderstand design compliance and reporting procedures and processes and leadership in the communication of requirementsFoster the interaction between design and construction teams to maximise innovation and project success.Ensure that JH Safety in Design requirements are met.Perform all duties in accordance with John Holland policies, processes, systems and proceduresTo be successful in this key role, you must have:Tertiary Qualification in Architecture, Building, Construction, Engineering or Quantity Surveying5-10 years' in technical management roles on significant projectsDemonstrated competencies in Head Contract and Subcontract understanding and interpretationStrong stakeholder management with major consultant partnersAwareness of risk management principles and how design can impact operational riskProficient skills in relevant computer software packages and necessary to perform the roleStrong time and cost management skills in timely delivery of design and management of both the costs of preparing design and the costs of the worksAs part of the team, you help us deliver on our promise to transform livesYour success is reflected in ours, so we're committed to being an employer of choice.
