GIA helps Rio Tinto accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and control processes.About the roleThis is an excellent opportunity for a highly self-motivated Senior Advisor - Internal Audit Data Analytics to contribute to our increasing data analytics capability in Group Internal Audit (GIA).GIA Data Analytics services harnesses data assets to deliver new insights, that enhance risk profiling during internal audit planning and scoping, broadens population testing during fieldwork, and contributes to risk quantification and root cause analysis during reporting.With our audit portfolio spanning the group's operations and functional areas, you will gain exposure to a wide variety of business areas, and the broader risk and assurance framework and communities that contribute to protecting our business.Reporting to the Principal Advisor - Data Analytics, you will:Work with audit leads and business leaders to understand the risk, assurance and controls landscape with a given business areaWork with data subject matter experts to gain an understanding of the data landscape within that business area, and partner with internal and external analytics practitioners to formulate data analytics scope that will contribute to audit objectivesDesign data analytics solutions to meet immediate audit objectives, but built in a way that considers scalability and reusability for the long termUtilise traditional business intelligence skillsets to:Source data sets from existing data platforms and directly from source systems (ETL)Model data using traditional modelling techniques, that enable efficient and reusable analysis (Data Modelling)Present metrics and insights in a visual way to help facilitate the identification of patterns, trends and correlations (Data Visualisation)Help to deliver our Data Analytics Strategy by leveraging more advanced analytics approaches and techniques to bring innovation and new insights to our assurance and advisory work.
