The RoleThe Clinical Nurse Consultant - Patient Safety contributes to the successful positioning of the Quality and Patient Safety service through the provision of high quality, accountable and measurable healthcare both internally and externally, by supporting the clinical areas to operate effective clinical services in accordance with the Department of Health and Quality and Patient Safety objectives.The occupant will:Apply a clinical perspective to all facets of the Quality and Patient Safety service.Coordinate and monitor the safety event monitoring program including identification and investigation of serious incidents and implementation of ratified recommendations.Facilitate and coordinate the introduction, implementation, and monitoring of patient safety initiatives across the agency.Coordinate patient feedback whilst ensuring appropriate and timely responses.Note: - Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.The Team:Hospitals North are currently undertaking an expansion of roles to support Quality and Patient Safety across the Launceston General Hospital, Primary Health Services, Northern Cancer Service and the Quality and Patient Safety Service. This is a new role, making this an exciting time and opportunity to join the team. We are positioning the team to be able to provide continuous quality improvement centred on consumers, strengthening our partnerships with clinicians and consumers alike.These positions will be providing direct support to departmental/service leadership teams to action patient safety processes and enhance quality improvement across Hospitals North.The team within the Quality and Patient Safety Service are committed to Excellence for our staff and community. For 2024 and 2025 we are focusing on effective Clinical Governance, eliminating avoidable harm and fostering a positive patient safety cultureDetails of AppointmentMultiple Permanent part time, day worker position working up to 64 hours per fortnight commencing from a mutually agreed date.*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicantApplicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.Salary: $111,506 - $118,336 pro rata per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.In addition, the following allowance calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification typeSalary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023Eligibility:Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse *Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee's responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change.
