Utilise your Technological expertise to provide support and advice to the Office of the Associate SecretaryAn Ongoing, Full-Time opportunity to work with a high-performing and passionate team in the Victorian Public ServiceVPS Grade 5: $106,534 - $128,897 plus superannuationAbout the Business Unit:The Office of the Associate Secretary (Office) supports the Secretary to lead and manage the responsibilities and statutory requirements of the department. The Office leads key whole of department functions, including corporate functions, delivery of the department's data insights, analytics and modelling function, savings and organisational transformation, and overseeing the department's response to the Cultural Review of the adult custodial corrections system. It also provides oversight of the department's strategic and operational performance, with a focus on using data to inform system strategy, advice to Government and operational oversight.Evidence and Insights focuses on meeting the department's data needs by providing responsive and sustainable services focused on supporting departmental outcomes. It is also responsible for providing end-to-end evidence-based policy support across the department and the reporting of data and research to the Victorian public through the Crime Statistics Agency.About the Role:The Data Platform Engineer works as part of the Data Development and Integration team to support the overall development and maintenance of the AWS-based enterprise data platform.Some of your duties will include:Ensuring security processes and data governance frameworks are upheld within the AWS-based enterprise data platform environmentImplementing monitoring and alerting systems to ensure appropriate data access, and to identify and resolve platform issuesLiaising with stakeholders across the department to support robust governance and quality of data ingested into the platform.To learn more about this role before applying, please read the attached position description.About You:As our ideal candidate, you will possess:Experience supporting the administration of data platforms, preferably cloud-based data platforms.Demonstrated knowledge of data security and data governance principles.Experience developing, maintaining and implementing technical documentation and policies.Experience using tools and programming languages to support cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, SQL, Python, R and/or Git), would be highly regardedQualifications/Requirements:A relevant business, data engineering, data governance or ICT tertiary qualification would be highly regarded.How to Apply:Please click the Apply button on this advertisement.
