SummaryBDLC is currently looking for a full-time floating teacher. A floating teacher's main responsibility is substituting for teachers who are absent short-term or out for extended periods of time such as maternity leave. Floating teachers must be familiar with implementing developmentally appropriate activities and play experiences for children ages six weeks to five years. Floating teachers can also step into classrooms as additional support when not filling in for an absent teacher.Hours: M-F 10am-6pm ($16/hr)Knowledge of Indiana state licensing regulations and Paths to Quality standards preferredDutiesWork alongside lead teachers in a play-based early childhood classroom settingImplement developmentally appropriate play experiencesAssist with diapering and toiletingMeal prep and serving foodAssist lead teachers with guiding young children's social emotional development through positive, calm interactionsRequirementsTB test, drug screen, and fingerprint background check are required upon hire.Once hired, all staff must complete the following trainings with support from the center: Child and Abuse and Neglect, Safe Sleep, First Aid/CPR/Universal Precautions, Introduction to Early Childhood Modules 1-3, and Introduction to the Early Childhood Foundations.HS Diploma required for both, CDA or Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education preferredNice To HavesBDLC is a non-profit childcare center with a wonderful sense of community.
