This role may also be required to occasionally work across other areas of the facility below depending on operational requirements.Key Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:Animal Husbandry and Breeding ServicesProviding care and husbandry to laboratory animals predominantly laboratory rodentsColony Management, monitoring breeding performance of stock, transgenic and knockout lines of mice and maintaining recordsSpecialised animal procedures relevant to the facility needs including euthanasiaResearch ServicesPerform both routine and specialised procedures associated with research using animals.Prepare, administer restricted drugs to animals for research purposes.OperationalComplete facility inductions for all usersAssist in supervision of staff, researchers, and students in relevant areas.Provide training in a variety of animal procedures, husbandry and operational duties.Cage cleaning and preparation and use of cleaning and sterilising equipmentAssist with quarterly health monitoring programs, including sample preparation for routine pathology reports.Assist with animal ethics committee applications. Undertake experimental procedures in accordance with approval conditions, assist with, and ensure compliance with any associated regulatory and reporting requirements.Participation on the weekend/public holiday roster This role is subject to The University’s Code of Conduct.This is a Full-time fixed-term position through to September 2027At HEW level 4, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $68,735.35 - $72,968.15, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $80,420.36 - $85,372.74 annually.
