Job Description

OverviewAre you a registered clinical counsellor or occupational therapist with experience in mental health program development and evaluation? We have an opportunity for a Quality Assurance Supervisor to liaise with and review external service provider programs and providers to support quality service for injured workers. You’ll connect with clinical service providers throughout the province and prepare reports on your findings, participate on committees to relay recommendations on external providers, and work as a clinical resource on mental health services for internal and external stakeholders.How you’ll make a difference: You’ll ensure we offer effective and evidence-based access to programs and services to help people recover when they’ve been injured at work.Where you’ll workWorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.In this role, you’ll work primarily from your B.C. home and occasionally in our Richmond office.What you'll doField inquiries from both internal and external customers pertaining to the service delivery of your assigned programsConduct visits (virtual and on-site) to external service providers to review the quality of WorkSafeBC funded clinical services being provided to injured workers and to ensure contractual complianceAssess relevant information regarding services and prepare reports on findings including outcome measures, compliance with expected standards, areas that require improvement, and recommendations on improvements requiredWork as part of a team to support innovative and evidenced-based mental health service deliveryIs this a good fit for you?We’re looking for someone who can:Work as a resource and expert on your assigned programs to both internal and external stakeholders, answering a variety of questions and assisting with concernsWork collaboratively in team settings with a solution-focused mindsetApply clinical knowledge on evidence-based practice for quality assurance on mental health servicesDevelop and present educational sessions for external service providers and internal WorkSafeBC staff, both in group and individual settingsMaintain the currency of your professional skills by appropriate continuing education, such as accessing professional journals and attendance at lectures, conferences, courses, and professional meetingsTravel to locations in BC and stay overnight as requiredYour background and experience:A master’s degree in psychology plus current registration with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors or the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association – and a minimum of three years of related health care experience, of which two years is recent experience as a practicing clinical counsellorOr a master’s degree in occupational therapy plus current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of BC – and a minimum of three years of recent clinical experience in the mental health field, of which two years is recent experience as a practicing occupational therapistA valid BC drivers’ licenseExperience in a quality assurance and/or mental health program development/evaluation is an assetImportant to knowBefore we can finalize any offer of employment, you must:Successfully meet the legal requirements under the Criminal Records Review Act to work with children and/or vulnerable adultsConfirm you’re legally entitled to work in CanadaWorkSafeBC’s COVID-19 Employee Mandatory Vaccine Policy (the “Policy”) is suspended effective January 9, 2023, however we reserve the right to re-implement it in response to changes in the public health landscape, including public health orders.
