SPHERE, a NHMRC-funded Centre of Research Excellence, is seeking a Level C or Level D research-only academic to join our dedicated team. Based at Monash University's St Kilda Rd campus, SPHERE focuses on improving access to and the quality of women's health care services in primary care, particularly in preconception care, contraception, medical abortion services, and the diagnosis and management of endometriosis and pelvic pain.About SPHERE SPHERE operates within the Department of General Practice and is driven by a team of national and international experts in women's health, general practice, pharmacy, nursing, epidemiology, knowledge translation, health economics, and policy development. Our mission is to enhance women's health care services through innovative research and collaboration.Position Purpose As a Level C or Level D academic, you will significantly contribute to SPHERE's research enterprise, providing strategic direction and research leadership. Your expertise in primary care, public health, epidemiology, or women's health will be pivotal in managing major research programs. You will support SPHERE's mission by submitting grant proposals, mentoring researchers, publishing high-quality papers, and engaging in research translation and impact activities.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct independent research and produce high-quality publicationsSupervise research-support and administrative staffLead and manage major research projects or teamsPromote research collaborations with external bodiesPrepare and submit research proposals for fundingOversee financial management of research grantsParticipate in professional activities, including conferences and seminarsContribute to teaching programs and supervise postgraduate research projectsEngage in research-related administrative functions and policy developmentAttend relevant meetings and participate in planning and committee workMake significant contributions to the discipline through research effortsPerform other duties as directedKey Selection CriteriaEducation/Qualifications: A doctoral qualification in primary care, public health, epidemiology, or women's health, or equivalent accreditation and standing, with significant subsequent research experienceKnowledge and Skills:National profile in the relevant discipline with a trajectory towards international leadershipStrong publication record in high-quality international journalsProven ability to generate research income from various funding sourcesExperience in managing and leading large research projects or teamsSuccessful supervision of honours and postgraduate research projectsUnderstanding of research governance and reporting requirementsExcellent organisational and communication skillsStrong work ethic and ability to work both independently and collaborativelyAbout Monash UniversityAt , work feels different.
