As a Traffic Operator you will manage and monitor the daily activities for their drivers. The main focus is to achieve set targets and ensuring the environment runs smoothly and efficiently.Salary: Up to £31,000 Per AnnumShift Pattern: Monday - Friday DaysAs the successful candidate, you will contribute to the overall success of the site, and will report directly to the site General Manager.Job responsibilities of Traffic Operator include:Keep up to date with all relevant legislation and ensure that regulations, policies and procedures are followedMinimising operation expenditure within the business wherever possibleUnderstanding and complying with the Health, Safety and Environment Policy and carry out work in accordance with its requirementsControl costs by managing nights out and monitor parking locationsRevenue and cost targets are achieved, and truck earnings investigatedTake responsibility for containers left on wheels in Stobart yards, to ensure exports make the intended vessels and empties are returned in time to avoid detention feesEnsure containers are returned to quay / depot before detention is incurred and prior to vessel cut offs, escalate to the Planner if there are any issuesEnsure vehicles and relevant information are put on the backload the day before the jobFind ways to make the job more profitable by utilising one way, tip and reloadETA's are monitored and late advices are entered at least 30 minutes before the booking timeEnsure all vehicles are routed and every driver is aware of his job and start timeService and MOT schedules to be followedResearch and understand drivers legal working hours and update knowledge with internal training if requiredBuild positive and effective relationships with drivers on your traffic sheet(s) to ensure we have a contentQualificationsAs a Traffic Operator you will possess the following skill, experiences and qualifications:As the successful candidate, you will have an ability to be an effective team player, with the passion to undertake challenges with a calm and flexible approach.You must be proficient in Microsoft applications including excel and have an enthusiasm to learn and progress.Day to day you will be communicating with drivers to initiative and people skills are essential.Additional InformationAs part of our drive to make Stobart a great place to work.
