Salary: Grade I-K - £40,503- £51,783 plus zone 2&3 travel card

Contract: Permanent

About the role:

If you are passionate about building relationships with children and families at their first contact with Children’s Social Care, focused on working towards positive outcomes for children and have at least 1 year of post-qualifying experience in a statutory Children’s Social Care team, we would love you to apply.

We are recruiting experienced social workers for our front door service Assessment and Intervention Teams. You will work as part of a fast-past team responding to child protection needs and undertaking child and family assessments. Under the guidance of your team manager, your team will be on duty every 4/5 weeks.

You will support children and families through the assessment process, up to co-producing step-down, Child in Need and Child Protection plans. Previous experience of Section 47 investigations and child and family assessments are desirable.


About you:

  • Have working knowledge of the framework within which social care operates, inclusive of legislation and national guidance and procedures specific to this post
  • Have knowledge of statutory work with children, including children in need, child protection, children looked after and court work. Knowledge of different types of interventions in family support
  • A nationally recognised or other SWE recognised social work qualification
  • Have at least 1 year of post-qualifying experience in a statutory Children’s Social Care setting
