Job Description
About us
At Mina our mission is to accelerate the transition to electric vehicles by making paying for EV charging radically simple.
Mina is a small, ambitious technology startup which has seen significant success despite being just over 3 years old. We’ve secured a number of blue chip customers, and raised over £6.5m in investment. In February 2023, Mina was bought by our partners at Fleetcor and we are now 100% owned by the Fleetcor group. Mina forms a core part of Fleetcor’s global EV strategy.
Our award winning payments platform allows fleet managers to easily manage their EV charging wherever drivers charge - at home, on the road and at work. As a group of people we’re passionate about sustainability, and helping to get more Zero Emission vehicles on the UK’s roads.
We’re also a B Corp, and take the environment, diversity and inclusion seriously in our day to day work. Mina is built on a principle of trust - it’s one of our values - and is core to how we treat each other and our customers. We’re building a culture unlike many other companies, where we believe supporting and trusting our team can help us to go further, faster and ultimately to change the world for the better.
What you’ll be doing
2023/24 is a really critical growth period for Mina - as supply chain issues ease, and vehicle deliveries begin to be fulfilled, our hockey stick growth looks to continue. This means it’s more important than ever that our product team ensures we’re building the right things at the right time, always maximising the business value of what our development teams output.
Leading one of our three value delivery work-streams, and reporting into the Head of Product & UX you will be responsible for ensuring the team are building things that maximise business value and customer experience.
Along with your peers in the cross-functional product teams will collectively be responsible for creating the technology that enables our unique market-leading payment solution.
You should be comfortable with the following duties and responsibilities:
- Getting your teeth into understanding how the business operates, and what levers you need to pull to make things happen.
- Working with various internal stakeholders to understand their jobs and how we can improve operational efficiency
- Using various diverse data sources (time tracking, support ticket category distribution, decision tree pathways, software usage analytics) in order to prioritise work in an objective and analytical and manner
- Being set targets of improving KPIs that show our business is healthy and efficient
- Creating and communicating roadmaps, continually managing expectation, and translating prioritisation rationale into operational impact
- Working with UX and visual designers to research customer needs and goals, prototyping concepts in order to validate ideas early, before going to build and using all our learning to deliver the most user-delighting software on the market
- Using all the tools in your arsenal to gain true empathy for the key internal and external personas who will be using our platform
- Running regular planning and refinement meetings
- Help manage feature requests and product feedback
- Helping us measure and understand how our product is being used, and how to make it better
- Writing exhaustive PBIs (issues, stories, whatever you want to call them) so that everyone from our C-Suite down to an individual developer has a clear, shared understanding of what is going to be delivered
Who we’re looking for
While we know the type of person we’re looking for, we don’t need applicants to fit in a specific mould… Your previous job titles might not even have included Product Owner, but have been something more like Digital Project Manager, Scrum Master, Digital Producer, Delivery Lead, … maybe even BA!
What we truly need is someone who isn’t afraid to roll their sleeves up and get their hands dirty in order to deliver results. We need you to have attention to the details, vision for the end-result and a track record of enabling software teams to deliver the best results in the business.
