To qualify for this position, applicant(s) must meet the following:
English Language Proficiency - In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(d), No person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English. You must be proficient in basic written and spoken English in order to meet the requirements of this position.
ANDDriver's License Requirement: This position requires driving to perform the official duties of the position; therefore, a current, valid state-issued driver's license is required. Note: We cannot accept photographs, therefore; please do not submit a copy of your license with your application package. If an interview is requested, you may be required to provide a copy of your current and valid state-issued driver's license.
ANDBasic Education Requirement: Applicants must possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in an appropriate social or biological science, which included or was supplemented by 12 semester hours in psychology.

In addition to meeting the English Language Proficiency, Drivers License Requirement, and Basic Education Requirement, applicant(s) must also meet one of the following requirements:Specialized Experience: Requires one (1) full year of technical work under the direction of a professional psychologist in a program of professional services, training, or research. At least six (6) months of such experience must be comparable in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade (GS-6) in the Federal service, or one (1) year comparable to the second lower grade (GS-5) in the Federal service. Duties must include experience with one or more of the following: (1) Assist in research as in systematic collection of psychology research data, recording and collecting data, preparing tabular or graphic presentation of data, in accordance with a predetermined research plan; (2) Assist counseling psychologists in contacting potential employers for the purpose of making vocational placement, providing follow-up consultation, administering and scoring of interest, achievement and aptitude tests, securing work history and other relevant vocational information; (3) Assist neuropsychologists in administering and scoring of selected tests of neuropsychology battery in accordance with clearly defined procedures; (4) Assist psychologists in completing behavior rating scales or in conducting behavior modification.
NOTE: Experience under the direction of a professional psychologist is required and must be documented on your resume. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must clearly indicate the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week.
OREducation Substitution: Applicants must havesuccessfully completed at least one (1) full year of graduate study in psychology in an accredited college or university to substitute the one year of experience to meet in full the requirements at the GS-7 grade level.

ORSuperior Academic Achievement at the GS-7 level:(SAA) at the baccalaureate level in the coursework detailed above is fully qualifying. Applicants who wish to apply under this provision must submit proof from their educational institution that they meet one of the criteria listed below. You must submit a copy of your transcript with your application. Education cannot be credited without documentation. To qualify for SAA, applicants must have completed all the requirements for a bachelor's degree in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled and meet one of the following:
1. Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses.
2. Applicants must have a grade-point average of:
3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or
3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2years of the curriculum.

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
