About the Role
As the Junior Operations Administrator Apprentice, you will work closely with the central services team to deliver activities that make Summit a great place to work. You will support our Operations, HR, IT and Recruitment functions and manage the day-to-day running of Summit facilities. You will also manage the staff social event calendar and support with internal staff communications on key initiatives. You will spend 100% of your time working on activity for Summit and will not be required to attend college.
Your role will give you fantastic, real-world experience as you become an integral part of the team, providing a key support function in the business to enable Summiteers to perform at their best, get the information and resources they need and create a fantastic working environment that Summiteers love to be in and can thrive.
You will add value to the team by:
- Supporting with the management of Summit office and facilities, acting as a liaison between the landlord and Summit team, and sharing important updates as required inc. building access, parking arrangements, contractor management, building repairs, refreshment orders etc.
- Leading on our staff events calendar, organising events for staff, keeping track of budgets and liaising with external companies to organise venues and similar. Working with other Summiteers to deliver events to a high standard.
- Supporting HR to manage our learning and development initiatives, including training session administration, reporting and feedback
- Supporting our Talent Partner to manage on site recruitment activities as required
- Supporting our Operations and Finance functions to report on staff utilisation and capacity
- Supporting with process management across the business, updating key documents and files to best practice as required
- Managing internal staff communications, ensuring company meeting presentations are ready to present and are consistent and follow up notes are shared
- Managing and updating the internal organisation chart
- Ensuring all tasks in workload management tools (e.g., Asana) are updated in an accurate and timely manner.
- Responsible for ensuring planned work is completed on time and to a high standard
- Attending meetings and calls when required, both onsite and remotely.

This 18-month apprenticeship involves flexible working and allows you to work flexibly from home as well as our office in C4DI, Hull Fruit Market. Summiteers are asked to attend our office 2 days per week, the rest of the week can be done from home. Your apprenticeship course will take place on at Hull College, and you will be given time back in the week to attend this course.
About you
Our ideal Junior Operations Administrator Apprentice will have attention to detail, consistency and an ability for creative problem solving are vital to be effective in this role. You will enjoy and be able to easily adapt to different personalities, being a proactive team player who is motivated by helping others, and organised, enabling you to manage a diverse workload and follow processes accurately. This is an entry level national apprenticeship, so no previous experience is required, full training will be provided. Key skills and knowledge include:
Some basic knowledge of business management would be beneficial, either through education or similar
- An ability to maintain confidentiality around sensitive issues to support the central teams working directly in these areas
- Confidence in communicating effectively
- Willing to learn, develop and grow
- Keen user of computers and computer software, experience of using Office365 packages is preferred.
