Job Title: SQL Database Administrator for EMCOR Construction Services

Department: Information Technology

Location: McLean, VA

Reports to: EMCOR Construction Services ERP Support Manager

FLSA Status: Full-Time / Exempt

SUMMARY

The SQL Database Administrator is responsible for Managing IT Projects including Software Reviews and Day-to-day management of SQL databases and environments. This position requires at least three (3) years of experience with Vista Viewpoint. This position is based in McLean, Virginia. However, candidates in other locations and meeting the requirements below may be considered.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Manage IT Projects including Software Reviews Day-to-day management of SQL databases and environments. Key areas of focus and responsibilities include:

  • Monitor and manage SQL db requests submitted by division businesses to ensure compliance with IT Policies
  • Monitoring and management of SQL databases for Division and Opco accounting, document management and other applications in an enterprise environment
  • Work collaboratively with IT, Security, OpCos and the ERP departments
  • Work with EMCOR IT and Security to help maintain business compliance with IT and Security policies
  • Review customization requests for issues
  • Troubleshoot SQL and related application issues
  • Participate in planning and implementation of SQL and application deployments
  • Work with EMCOR IT and Security to help maintain business compliance with IT and Security policies
  • Provide reporting as required to executives, management and team leaders on Security, IT and other areas of compliance
  • Manage and participate in IT projects as needed to implement Corporate initiatives
  • Attend regular conference calls with EMCOR IT & Security
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of IT

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Ten (10) years of progressive IT experience, including at least five (5) years of experience with SQL database and server management.
  • Experience should demonstrate ability to work effectively independently and in teams.
  • At least five (5) years of experience participating in review, management and reporting on complex IT projects including SQL Server
  • At least five (5) years of SQL experience with an ERP
  • At least three (3) years of experience with Vista by Viewpoint
  • Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise, Standard and Development 2016, 2017, 2019 & 2022. Windows Server 2016, 2019 & 2022 knowledge
  • Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services management
  • Network infrastructure, Active Directory & IT security knowledge
  • Knowledge of monitoring and managing SQL performance with tools such as Redgate
  • Working knowledge of Power BI preferred and Power Apps usage
  • Participation in occasional after-hours IT activities
  • Ability to travel infrequently as business need arises

Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of customer, employees, unions, government agencies, vendors and suppliers, and other contractor organizations.
