Job Description
Due to expansion of our busy studio, we require an enthusiastic general studio assistant. The role will be to support our small team in all aspects of a busy ceramics studio.
This will include:
- Packing and shipping of artwork
- General studio maintenance, organizing, tidying and cleaning
- Helping with stock control
- Adhering to health and safety procedures
- Supporting our ceramics production and helping with clay/ceramics related tasks
- Finishing artworks and assisting with production
- Styling/photography/social media support
- General admin tasks
This job really requires a creative all-rounder who is enthusiastic, efficient, reliable and can work as part of a small and friendly team. A can-do attitude will be needed!
You will need:
- Good standard of English and maths
- Strong work ethic
- Social media skills - pinterest/instagram/facebook etc.
- Excellent communication skills
- Interest/ability/experience in taking and editing photographs
- Be physically fit and able to pack ceramics and carry parcels.
- Have an interest in crafts such as ceramics, textiles, sewing or jewellery making.
- Experience of using photoshop, marketing, using online retail platforms such as etsy or ebay and/ or basic website administration may be advantageous but is not essential.
- To be hard working, and willing to complete sometimes repetetive tasks.
- To have an eye for detail and be able to effectively quality control work.
- To adhere to safe working practices.
- An ability to prioritise and be organized
- Experience of working with clay, either as a hobby/student or job.
This will be a small team, so a positive, friendly, cooperative, helpful and professional manner is essential.
Part time hours, no weekend work, in the first instance this role will be for 12 hours, split over Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Within those days, we may be flexible for the right candidate.
