This is a key time to be joining British Airways as we Build a Better BA. We take huge pride in our past – but we’re looking to the future as an airline that loves embracing the best of modern Britain. Our country’s creativity, diversity, style, wit and warmth are the same special qualities that make us who we are. If you’re made of the same qualities as us, you could soon be part of the next chapter of our story. Together as one team, we’re connecting Britain with the world and the world to Britain like no one else.
About the role
Now is an exciting time to join the Resourcing Delivery team within Operations Planning.
Whilst this is not a HR role, you will be accountable for delivering the right level of resource for operationally critical areas across the Heathrow Campus; for example our Customer Experience staff on check-in or our back-office functions in the Airport Resolution Centre, through to our Baggage and Loading teams on the ramp, to our Aircrafts Movements teams, and many more.
Working as part of a wider team, you'll take a set of resource requirements for your area and review skills, shift times, and resource supply to optimally meet those requirements, supporting the delivery of a robust flying schedule for our workforce and, ultimately, our customers. You'll also deal with on-the-day queries from the frontline workforce, collaborating with our Resource Allocation teams to react swiftly to any on-the-day events creating a resourcing risk to the operation, and working together to reach the best outcome.
About you
Working alongside our planning teams, the ideal candidate will be eager to develop, with a digital mindset and the ability to go the extra mile to support team members, frontline staff and customers. As our operation runs 24/7, it will be necessary for the role-holder to work a rostered shift pattern consisting of earlies, day and late shifts. This role is based at Waterside, our corporate head office located near Heathrow Terminal 5.
Our Corporate and Support roles come with big potential to make your mark on our business. The airline industry changes so fast that we’re constantly evolving and finding new ways to impress customers and get ahead of our competitors. If you’re an innovator and brave and bold thinker, you will be in your element at British Airways.
