The Senior Business Analyst for Wholesale Credit & Lending IT role is focused on the LoanIQ service, which manages complex and bilateral lending activity of Global Banking and Commercial Banking, providing a specialized application for the booking and administration of complex / high-end loans, such as high value structured loan transactions including syndicated loans.


This covers servicing of complex loans for HSBC in the capacity as a lender (HSBC participation and bilateral lending) and as a syndicated facility agent. Loan IQ is implemented within HSBC in UK / HK / France / Germany / US / Canada / Australia to support syndicated agency, participation, and bilateral lending, plus is used in UK / HK / US for secondary loan trading.


What you will be doing.


  • As our Senior Business Analyst, you will provide LoanIQ product / subject matter expert knowledge for projects, enhancements, and support activities.
  • Establishing strong and long-lasting client relationships with operations, accounting, risk and other business partners in order to better ascertain, analyse and gather their needs.
  • The principal responsibility is to lead and execute analysis activity for one or more programmes, managing the capture, analysis and documentation of business & IT processes.
  • To be successful in this role, you will have excellent operational knowledge of the Loan IQ platform along with knowledge of the complex lending businesses.
  • You will be able to elicit business requirements from business users (including accounting, operations, risk, treasury) and subject matter experts, along with the ability to gather, model and document clear business and functional requirements / specifications.
  • You will have the ability to present and discuss with the business and IT users any impact resulting from the project, manage scope and requirements throughout the project lifecycle, provide overview and training for end-users.
  • Finally, be able to prepare functional specifications and work with development on implementing required enhancement/changes, along with the creation of test plans and test scripts.
Requirements

What you will bring to the role.

To be successful in this role you should have proven experience within the Technology sector with knowledge of the following skills:

  • Experience of Banking domain, Commercial or Global Banking an asset.
  • Experience of hands-on experience on LoanIQ.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Proactive on taking leadership when needed, self-motivated, dynamic and result oriented.
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills and experience of communicating complex ideas to senior management and key stakeholders as well as to project team members.


This role will primarily be based in London or another UK base location, some travel may be required.
