Job Description
The role
We are seeking a reliable and highly motivated individual to join our Hertfordshire team on a
permanent basis. This is an ideal opportunity for graduates looking to develop a career in
ecological consultancy. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to assist with all
areas of our work, including:
Carrying out ecological surveys and/or supporting senior team members
Supervising ecological aspects of site work
Collating and reviewing ecological information for desk studies
Assisting with the production of reports and mapping
Carrying out general administrative tasks
Candidate specification
Essential:
Hold a degree in ecology or a closely related subject
Some experience of undertaking protected species surveys, such as those for bats, great
crested newts or reptiles
Be reliable, flexible, and willing to work unsociable hours
Have excellent organisation skills
Be located within an hour’s drive of our Hertfordshire office
Have a car and be able to travel to sites throughout the South-East
Desirable:
Post-graduate degree in ecology or a closely related subject
Hold a protected species survey licence
Graduate membership of CIEEM
Valid CSCS card
Knowledge of GIS
What we offer
We will provide comprehensive one-to-one training of standard survey techniques following the
relevant good practice guidelines and will assist the successful candidate in working towards a
continuous learning and development (CLAD) plan to help develop their knowledge and skills.
This is a requirement of CIEEM and will hopefully be used to inform potential future roles
within the company.
Salary will be between £20,000 - £24,000 dependent on the calibre and experience of the
candidate. We also offer:
