Where you’ll work
Tyneholm Stables is a home which is forward thinking and is developing staff and improving the environment as part of its journey. It sits within the village of Pencaitland within East Lothian, easily accessible by car from the city of Edinburgh and surrounding areas, Bus Travel is also accessible from the surrounding areas and villages and a direct bus does come from Edinburgh Town centre. With stunning views surrounding the home, we can often find residents sitting outside for lunch and taking part in activities during the warmer weather. There is also lots of variety of walks, which are wheelchair friendly woodland walks.

- First and foremost – we work together as a team to enrich our residents’ lives – let’s support our colleagues too and have fun in the process
- We give the highest quality of personalised care to our residents in line with their individual care plans
- Leisure and social activities are a really important part of the day – so we have a dedicated activities coordinator who is promoting co – production so our residents live their best lives– As a Care Assistant we can thrive by being kind and supportive in every way to our residents, their families and our colleagues, then we’re all doing a great job.
What skills do I need?
- Teamwork! A happy team, makes for happy residents and a happy home
- Experience is not essential, as we will support you with all the training and qualifications needed to do the job, what is important is that you are caring, enthusiastic and have energy to share
- Being able to communicate well is essential along with a flexible approach
- You’ll also be kind and have a real genuine love for older people and their needs, ensuring we treat everyone with the respect and dignity they deserve.
