Junior Software Developer
As a Junior Software Developer, you will work alongside the Marston's software development team to code programs and applications that meet identified business needs. Contributing to the proper design and implementation of software that extends or supports the Marston's Microsoft Azure Cloud application landscape.
This is a hybrid role where you can work from home or in our brand new office in Wolverhampton. There is an expectation of 2 days a week in the office.
The role is permanent, with a salary package from £27,000 upwards with additional benefits.
This would be a great position for recent graduates looking to get some hands on experience in the development world or someone who is looking to develop and progress with a company having gained their initial experience elsewhere.
Have you got what it takes? You will be producing clean, efficient code that meet agreed development standards/goals. In addition:
- Testing and debugging programs/applications
- Collaborating with the software development team
- Identifying and fixing software defects
- Writing software documentation
- Following coding standards and best practice
- Participating in code reviews
What you’ll bring to the table – You will have experience of Microsoft ASP .Net Core, Blazor, Javascript/Typescript. And in addition:
- Experience/knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365, SQL, documentation writing, testing strategies, and Agile methodologies
- Identifying, creating and applying software development and security standards and processes
- Planning and designing software components
- Estimating time and effort required for software development
- Constructing, amending and verifying software components
- Applying test-driven development and ensuring appropriate test coverage
- Documenting software components
- Selecting appropriate development methods
- Applying recovery techniques to ensure the software being developed is not lost
- Implementing appropriate change control to software development practices
- Resolving operational problems with software and fixing bugs
