We are looking for an experienced officer who will be able to undertake a range of property inspections throughout the district in relation to claims for discounts and exemptions. You will visit premises under construction and liaise with property developers, builders and owners to serve completion notices and visit empty premises to establish liability.
With excellent IT skills, you will have the ability to use a variety of computer systems including Microsoft Office packages and internet use. Experience of working to tight deadlines and excellent organisational skills are imperative to this role.
This is a fixed term contract for 12 months.
The successful candidate will be confident, enthusiastic and able to work under pressure in a busy environment. you will be required to undertake a variety of work, have the ability to multi task and use your own initiative.
As well as being highly motivated, you will possess excellent planning, and time management skills as you will be required to work independently and plan and monitor your daily workload, whilst liaising with your work colleagues in the office.
You will utilise your knowledge and analytical skills as an experienced officer to maintain databases for both council tax and non domestic rates, and submit reports of changes and updates to the Valuation office Agency. Additionally you will be required to attend and present evidence to Valuation Tribunals.
You must have the ability and confidence to make appropriate decisions, possess a high level of written and oral communication skills through multiple channels and committed to offering first class customer service.
Please note the successful candidate will require a satisfactory basic DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) check.
