We are advertising for a Maternity administrator covering the Antenatal Clinic. The role will be based at Barnet Hospital however the post holder will be expected to work dynamically across all areas of the service when required.
The Antenatal clinic and ward clerk administrators are responsible for providing a front-line reception service and administrative function to the Antenatal clinic and maternity wards and for delivering a high standard of customer care to a wide range of client groups, including the clinic/ward’s multi-disciplinary team, patients, relatives and their carers.
The post-holder must play a proactive role in collecting, investigating, verifying and recording a high standard of patient demographic and treatment data. The post holder must accurately and in a timely manner enter such information on the computerised patient information system, to ensure that the trust receives the appropriate level of income for patient activity, avoids the potential clinical risks inherent with inaccurate patient records and is compliant with national NHS targets (e.g. on data quality and length of patient wait).
The post-holder must undertake effective forward planning, to ensure that the administrative needs of the service are met and must carry out a range of effective administration processes to support the delivery of high quality patient care.

- Demonstrable ability to meet the Trust Values
- NVQ Level 3 or Equivalent
- Level 2 Medical Terminology
- Experience of working in a public/patient facing role
- Previous work in a team
- Previous work experience in a receptionist or similar role
- Previous work experience in a healthcare setting
- Experience of working with Cerner, or similar electronic Patient Administration Systems
- Computer literate
- Excellent communication skills both written and spoken
- Excellent customer service skills
