We are a supported living organisation who specialise in providing bespoke packages of support to people with learning disabilities and complex needs who wish to live in the community in their own home. We are looking for support workers to work in the following areas. Newcastle, Hexham, East Denton, Houghton le Spring, Washington, South Shields, Jarrow.
We support adults & young people with:
- Support with and positively respond to people’s behaviours.
We are looking to recruit Support Workers full & part time, this role will involve weekends, evenings & nights – £12.00 per hour & NMW for sleep in’s with enhanced rates of pay for bank holidays. Sickness and Health & Well-being benefit included.

Main Responsibilities
To support the young man to enjoy life
To support the young man to stay fit healthy and active
To encourage the young man to maintain and develop life skills in relation to social
activities
To support the young man in his chosen activities
To complete daily paperwork and reports accurately when necessary
To carry out range of household tasks including cleaning, washing, minor maintenance and repair tasks as directed, ensuring that high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are always maintained
To be familiar and act in accordance with Orbis support policies and procedures and systems
To promote advisable independence ensuring that the service provided reflects their views, wishes, and opinions of those supported
To promote awareness of Equality, Diversity and inclusion to enhance and embed within Orbis support
Record and inform senior staff of any changes observed in physical health or behaviour and assist with any necessary action in emergencies or where changes require medical attention, document changes as required by internal systems
Liaise as required with families, carers, advocate and professionals involved in supporting this young man
To comply with all legal responsibilities under Health and Safety legislation. Be aware in accordance with requirements and all internal rules and relating to Health and
Safety and hygiene, also fire service, and Environmental Health Department regulations
To carry out house administration duties as required
Co-operative with and participate positively in staff activities and duties, including staff meetings, supervisions sessions performance reviews and attend training
Act calmly and professional at all times.
Undertake all other duties and tasks commensurate with scope and grade of post as directed by senior staff.
