We are seeking an ambitious Finance Assistant to provide administrative and financial support. Your responsibilities will include:
- Raise sales invoices and credit notes to customers
- Point of contact for dealerships and to investigate customer invoice queries
- Utilise Credit Control tools including direct telephone calls, email correspondence and ticketing platforms
- Secure customer remittance advice to ensure correct cash allocation on debtor accounts
- Timely and accurately allocate cash to customer invoices
- Reconciling complex customer accounts
- Liaising with the wider finance team, sales and account managers to ensure timely customer query resolution and facilitate collection of overdue debts
- Process supplier invoices, allocate payments and follow up with suppliers and partners as needed
- Prepare weekly payments runs
- Proactively liaise with internal stakeholders and suppliers to resolve billing or payment issues, ensuring information is both accurate and timely
- Track and reconcile bank statements
- Provide administrative support during month-end preparation
- Assisting with the annual external audit process
- Ad-hoc duties as required
The ideal candidate will be interested in a career in finance and will have the ability to work swiftly and accurately with a large volume of transactions, have a can-do attitude and be able to work flexibly within a team and have excellent communication skills. They should be able to organise their time to meet weekly and monthly deadlines.
Requirements
- Degree level qualified or part-qualified in finance & accounting or relevant field
- Experience in a similar role is essential
- Having a good understanding of typical Credit Control and Billing processes is advantageous
- Good knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures
- Familiarity with accounting software (NetSuite experience desirable)
- Adaptable, able to adjust quickly to changes in processes and learning new systems and software
- Skilled in the use of Google Sheets or Excel (creating spreadsheets and using financial functions)
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Be a self-starter with a great eye for detail and motivated to build strong stakeholder relationships
- Ability to interpret data from various sources accurately and at pace
- Flexible, adaptable and confident in your own initiative
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Motivated to become a trusted advocate for Credit Control in driving business processes
