The position that we are looking to fill is within our Operations team as a Timber Machinist.
On the job training will provide you with the knowledge and skills required to become an expert on a specified machine or area within our mill also the skills to operate all other machines and complete processes to fulfil order requirements.
Timbersource Ltd is a Hardwood and quality softwood specialist in Somerset with over 20 years of supplying the best timber products to trade and retail customers. We have a reputation for our traditional timber range and bespoke machining services. Responsibilities and duties:
- To assist in the production of unique, bespoke, made to measure timber items for sale all across the UK (and internationally!).
- You will Learn to use our variety of machinery.
- View and understand orders using our internal order management system.
- Assist in other areas when required to ensure maximum output, including manual lifting.
- Quality check of products to ensure our high standards are maintained.
- Follow company Health and safety procedures and Make Health & Safety a priority and demonstrate how you can keep yourself and others safe at work.
- Be prepared to multi-task on a daily basis.
Personal attributes:
- Experience in a similar role would be beneficial but not essential as full training will be provided.
- Have excellent communication skills.
- Good timekeeping, Reliable, organised, honest, and hard-working.
- Logical and methodical with good attention to detail.
- Enjoy a physical work environment.
- Ability to problem-solve, and a determination to maintain highest standards.
- A ‘can do’ attitude.
- Able to work as a team.
- Basic level of IT skills.
- To contribute to the development and success of the team and the company.
- Effectively communicate with all colleagues professionally and honestly.
- Able to work on own initiative.
Hours of work are Monday-Friday, 08:00 – 17:00 with two half hour breaks. In addition, you will receive 28 days paid holiday a year plus 8 bank holidays. We also use some holiday to shut down over Christmas!
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: From £21,673.60 per year
