GARDENER AND GROUNDS MAINTENANCE OPERATIVE
- Due to continued organisational growth and development opportunities for our current staff, we are recruiting for a full-time Gardener and Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our Facilities Team at the beautiful Old Vicarage in Swinderby located near Lincoln.
About the job:
You will assist with the maintenance and development of the gardens and grounds of the Company’s residential care homes, schools and ancillary property stock
Our sites are schools and residential homes for children and young adults with severe learning difficulties, autistic spectrum disorder and challenging behaviours. The safety and maintenance of these properties and grounds is essential in providing a safe, supportive and homely environment allowing our pupils and residents to flourish in their surroundings.
What would I be doing?
Carry out a range of Grounds Maintenance tasks to ensure that the outdoor areas of the company’s properties are a well-kept, safe and aesthetically pleasing environment to be enjoyed by the pupils, residents, staff and visitors.
Undertake daily routine safety and maintenance checks ensuring that relevant vehicles, machinery and equipment used is well maintained, kept clean and does not expose operatives to the risk of accident or injury.
After appropriate training, use approved equipment and products, following manufacturers recommendations and in accordance with Health and Safety Guidelines and company Policies and Procedures.
Work outdoors in all weathers and seasons; with appropriate PPE provided.
With appropriate training, frequently undertake Manual Handling activities.
After appropriate training, Work at Height in compliance with all current legislation and company policies and procedures.
What experience or qualifications would I need?
- Class B driving licence and experience of towing trailers
- Previous commercial grounds maintenance experience
- Able to work as a team
- Resilient to working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Able to travel to other locations when necessary
