Job Description

BAFTA is seeking a New Talent Producer to join their busy Learning, Inclusion & Talent team

Job Purpose

This role programmes and delivers activity within BAFTA’s Learning, Inclusion and Talent team and is responsible for supporting new talent across two initiatives: BAFTA Breakthrough and BAFTA Connect Membership. BAFTA defines the New Talent audience group as those who are approaching or have just completed work on their first long-form credit in film/tv/games. The post holder will have a passion for developing emerging creatives in film, games and television across the crafts, an understanding of the challenges and barriers to mid-level career progression, as well as excellent industry and programme/content knowledge, research and administrative skills.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

BAFTA Connect is a tier of membership created as part of BAFTA’s ongoing mission to strengthen support for future creative leaders in the film, games and television industries.

The New Talent Programme Producer will be responsible for producing a monthly tailored programme of activity for BAFTA Connect Members at emerging and mid-level across film and television, for a UK-wide cohort of 1000+ members.

This role has responsibility for producing and delivering the Connect programme in the UK, and supporting BAFTA’s branches in Wales, Scotland and North America to programme their respective cohorts, to reflect BAFTA Connect’s global strategy.

BAFTA Breakthrough

Breakthrough, run in partnership with Netflix, showcases and supports the next generation of creative talent in film, games and television in the UK, India and the US.

The initiative identifies exciting new talent coming up in the film, games and television industries and provides bespoke support at a critical ‘breakthrough’ career moment, enabling them to build on their success and ensuring their continued development in their chosen field.

Ideal candidates will have:

A good understanding of the film and television industry and the challenges for progression for new talent. Knowledge of the games industry is desirable but not essential.
A proven track-record of programming and delivering in-person and virtual events in the film and/or television industries
Confidence in dealing with and managing speakers, agents, high level talent, beneficiaries and stakeholders
Excellent administration skills and attention to detail
Experience of working overseas or knowledge of international territories is desirable but not essential
Excellent communication skills

Ideally you will be:

An excellent ambassador for both BAFTA and our new talent audiences
Collaborative and confident to work independently
Passionate about the creative industries and driving positive change

Please be aware this is a 12 month fixed term role
