Job Description
The Collections Assistant is an essential role for our property. By undertaking the day-to-day care and cleaning of the property and its collections you’ll ensure their preservation and presentation for our visitors.
It’s about engaging with and sharing the important work you do with a wide range of people bringing to life the property and your role in collections care and conservation.
This is a 12 month fixed-term contract.
Interviews will take place on the 6th and 7th of June.

What you'll be doing:As a Collections Assistant, you’ll be working with a great conservation team in an incredible place. You’ll help with the day-to-day care of the collection following the latest preventive conservation guidance. No detail will go unnoticed, and you’ll monitor everything from the environmental conditions in a room, to signs of degradation of the collection, and maintain accurate records.
In this visitor facing role, we’d love for you to talk to visitors about the work you’re doing, and the collections we have. You’ll talk about the practices and techniques we use and the history/story of the property. You’ll also be part of the wider team of employees and volunteers, helping across site where necessary.
