Role purpose To lead the delivery of music services across the organisation
Location Based in Little Stoke, Bristol, with home working and essential travel to locations across the region
Remuneration £44,000 - £49,000 per annum
Hours 37 hours per week, all year round
People/staff Music teachers, programme leaders, third party workers as appropriate
responsibilities
Reports to Chief Executive Officer
Key Drive continuous improvement in the standards of music services across the
Accountabilities organisation through a consultative approach to planning, evaluation and improvement.
- Oversee the delivery of the National Plan for Music Education, ensuring targets
(internal and external) are monitored and achieved
- Contribute to the delivery of the growth strategy, ensuring increasing participation in existing services and the development of relevant new services
- Work in partnership with schools to deliver improvements in music provision, in both the music and SEMH curricula (in conjunction with programme leaders).
- Co-ordinate the work of the Schools’ Music Mentors
- Lead on the development of CPD for music teachers in schools to ensure they are up to date with best practice and current pedagogy.
- Oversee the delivery of service provision through music centres, ensuring their smooth operation, growth and innovation.
- Oversee the development of equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) programming, ensuring that EDI is at the heart of organisational ethos and delivery.
- Lead the team of Music Teachers, ensuring the effective and efficient timetabling of staff, driving high performance through mentoring and coaching and the delivery of support and development.
- Lead the strategy for music events, developing new opportunities for service delivery.
- Proactively support the leadership team in establishing ways of working which drive a high-performance culture.
- Work in partnership with Marketing and Communications to inform and innovate the delivery of music services.
Qualifications Degree level or equivalent in education and/or music
- Relevant professional music qualification or experience
- QTS preferred
