Job Title: Business Development Manager

Salary: Up to £65,000 depending on experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Working with stakeholders, developing and implementing strategy/marketing plans e.g. country plans
- Acting upon market analysis and intelligence data to influence and plan investment
- Have a key role in the leading, understanding and influencing/shaping of the customer requirement, defining opportunity timelines and acting as customer advocate during solution development
- Developing a clear understanding of and communicating to the customer the procurement process and customer Critical Success Factors and ”Hot Buttons” that underpin the win strategy
- Managing, developing and maintaining a strong relationship with the customers, key influencers, governments, local consultants (where used) and internal stakeholders
- Sharing and ensuring the business acts upon customer opportunities, thinking, knowledge, concerns etc.
- Understanding customer organisations, culture, processes, constraints and working practices and be able to relate these back into business
- Working closely with Capture/ Project teams to share and focus key messages, supporting customer engagement where appropriate to specific captures or projects & understand current customer issues/concerns
Your skills and experiences:
- Qualified to Degree standard or equivalent experience
- Extensive Business Winning experience and a deep understanding of business winning behaviours, processes, procedures and industry best practice
- Considerable experience in identifying, creating and developing new opportunities for the Business and maturing them until the point that the Business can take a pursue/stop decision
- Proven experience in frontline business development or sales role
- Ability to solve problems in different ways – some routine judgment in straightforward situations, others more complex
- Working on own initiative with responsibility for delivery

The Underwater Weapons Business Development team:
As part of the Underwater Weapons Business Development team, you will be responsible for identifying, creating and developing opportunities for existing and emerging capabilities and maturing them until the point that the Business can take a pursue/stop decision. Once the Capture Leader is appointed you continue as a key member of the Capture team and undertake the role of primary customer interface / advocate and market intelligence conduit.
