Job Description

This role is an Assistant Finance Manager role within our Transport Finance A&I team.
The Transport team comprises 2 main businesses, Black Horse (primarily consumer financing) and Lex Autolease (commercial and personal leasing). We are growing our Transport business, having recently acquired Tusker, a vehicle management and leasing company focused on electric and low emission vehicles which supports the Groups sustainability ambitions and 2030 Transport target. There has been a huge amount of change in the Motor Industry with changing customer behaviours influencing how customers gain access to finance vehicles, how they use vehicles and of course the green agenda.

What you’ll be doing

  • Within our Finance team you will gain a deep understanding of products, its business, its people, and its processes.
  • You will be supporting business plans and financial forecasts and have responsibility for updating/running our core TM1 and Excel forecasting models, undertaking analysis into performance issues, owning small project changes to our models and supporting with answering ad hoc questions & queries.
  • You’ll play a key role in supporting the team with an emphasis on embedding and developing a robust control environment across key models and our data infrastructure.
  • Working with a variety of stakeholders across central Finance functions & Business areas you will ensure our Transport data is shared efficiently and with full attestation across multiple sources.

What we’re looking for

  • We’re looking for people to join the team who love to solve problems – people who are bold, creative, and naturally curious will thrive.
  • You’ll have a high degree of numeracy, analytical skills, and a foundation understanding of financials.
  • You will be studying toward a finance qualification in an accountancy capacity (AAT/CIMA/ACA/ACCA etc), whilst this is considered beneficial it is not essential, however you will need relevant finance experience.
We believe that broadening and deepening our team’s skills and experience benefits both us and our colleagues, and so champion the continuous development of every member of the team. Our rotation policy within the broader A&I finance team supports the growth of new skills and building of new knowledge, so you'll have the opportunity to move into other teams in due course. We also have other development streams that develop skills that we'll need in the future, such as data exploitation and use of emerging technology alongside soft skills.
There is a thriving RF&DM community that operates around our hubs, and everyone has the opportunity to get involved in our People agenda. That will extend your LBG network and give you a chance to make a difference to the wider team.
The team is based in a number of UK hubs, and we’re used to working in multi-location teams. As such choice of hub really doesn’t matter to us – we want to recruit the best people and don’t want location to be a limiting factor. We have a hybrid working style, and you'll find us in the office two days a week.
Please note, while this advert is specifically within Transport Finance A&I, strong candidates will also be considered for other vacancies within the broader Finance A&I centre of excellence.
Still interested? If this sounds like the sort of opportunity that you might be interested in, then please do get in touch!

Desired skillsets/experience:

  • Studying toward a finance qualification in an accountancy capacity (AAT/CIMA/ACA/ACCA etc)
  • Finance experience, or relevant experience in a core finance function
  • High degree of numeracy and ability to understand and manipulate/process complex data into summarised and clear outputs
  • Proficient in using analytical tools and systems eg Excel, PAX (TM1) a bonus
  • A solid background and ability to maintain and formulate strong governance and controls across models and data
  • A natural curiosity to think differently and challenge the status quo
We're dedicated to giving you opportunities and support to develop you both professionally and personally to optimise your potential! As a new colleague to the team, you’ll join us on our journey to build a 21st century bank that reflects modern Britain and craft an inclusive culture where all colleagues feel encouraged and valued. We're also passionate about diversity and equal opportunity with industry recognition across gender, ethnicity, disability, LGBTQ+ and families. And, being disability positive, reasonable adjustments can be accommodated in our Recruitment process, just let us know.
We work in hybrid ways which involves spending at least two days per week or 40% of their time at one of our office sites.
You'll also receive;
  • A competitive salary.
  • A discretionary bonus.
  • Private medical insurance.
  • Pension contributions up to a maximum of 15% of your salary.
  • Share plans.
  • 28 days paid holiday each year, plus Bank Holidays.
If you're excited by this role please apply as we'd love to hear from you.
Together we’ll make it possible!
At Lloyds Banking Group, we're driven by a clear purpose; to help Britain prosper. Across the Group, our colleagues are focused on making a difference to customers, businesses and communities. With us you'll have a key role to play in shaping the financial services of the future, whilst the scale and reach of our Group means you'll have many opportunities to learn, grow and develop.
We keep your data safe. So, we'll only ever ask you to provide confidential or sensitive information once you have formally been invited along to an interview or accepted a verbal offer to join us which is when we run our background checks. We'll always explain what we need and why, with any request coming from a trusted Lloyds Banking Group person.
