Reporting to the Accountant, you will support the Finance team in ensuring the monthly management accounts are completed to meet required deadlines.
You will be expected to:
- Assist and ensure accurate and timely payments and accounts are appropriately serviced
- Own & reconcile the bank account/ cash book, including writing and banking cheques
- Maintenance & reconciliation of petty cash
- Verifying the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records
- Salary inputs expenses, mileage and commissions
- Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions (e.g., disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, accounts payable)
- Monthly/Quarterly Annual Returns
- Ensure accurate accounting for VAT, subcontractors tax and CITB payments as appropriate
- Assist in ad hoc projects, tasks and reports as and when required
You will also be expected to:
- Process electronic payments via the online banking portal
- Prepare weekly cash flow forecast for FD review
- Check accuracy of State for Settlements for Sales department
- Monthly/Quarterly/Annual returns for National Statistics reporting
- Assist with month end balance sheet reconciliations
- Reconcile inter company balances monthly
- Assist Accountant with payroll annual returns
- Assist with collection and analysis for Corporate Sustainability Reporting
To be successful in the role, we are looking for:
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under your own initiative
- Possibly training for accounting qualification, wishing to commence studying, part or newly qualified or qualified by experience
- Able to work to tight deadlines
- Strong reconciliation, mathematical and organisational skills required
- Ability to work with colleagues across all disciplines including Divisional Directors and JV Partners
