Do you have passion for Sanctions? As a regulated financial institution, we have a regulatory obligation to establish and maintain policies, procedures, systems and controls to mitigate and effectively manage Sanctions risk.
In this critical role, you’ll be the Subject Matter Expert, providing Sanctions Advisory advice across Line 1 and Central Functions.
You’ll be responsible for providing the best guidance and advice possible, to maintain effective Sanctions compliance.
The difference you’ll make
Providing SME guidance on escalated and complex Sanctions referrals and Sanctions Policy appetite queries across the Bank
Supporting the analysis of the types of and outcomes of Sanctions escalations, and providing Sanctions risk qualitative and quantitative information to Senior Management
Advising on Sanctions Policy interpretation, Regulatory advisory, Country risk advisory, Screening, Systems and spike management
Assisting with Sanctions Policy gap analysis and supporting Policy Dispensations
Communicating Sanctions Policy changes to the Bank
Assisting with the preparation of Business support tools (templates, quarterly guidance, briefs), to help and prepare teams to manage Sanctions risk
What you’ll bring
We are looking for people who can help shape, influence and transform the bank’s capabilities, ensuring we continue to disrupt financial crimes, and support and enable the right outcomes for our customers .
Previous experience of providing FC Advisory related guidance, in a similar or equivalent role
Broad understanding of regulatory framework of UK financial services, industry trends and best practice
It would also be nice for you to have
Knowledge and experience of working across banking products and an understanding of the related Sanctions Risks
Strong Excel and Word skills including being able to understand and interpret information
Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
What else you need to know
This is a permanent role that can be based in our offices in Milton Keynes, Bradford, Glasgow or Sheffield.
You will be expected to attend the office 40% of the time. We can support flexible working depending on your requirements.

Eligible for a discretionary performance-related annual bonus
