Sales and Marketing Assistant
24-34K + OTE depending on experience.
Global Insight Conferences, a market-leading conference and exhibition company, is looking for an ambitious, accountable and hardworking sales-driven individual to join their Sales & Marketing department from May 2023. We are looking for an individual with a minimum of one year’s office or call centre experience who will go the extra mile to generate delegate revenue.

What are we looking for?
- 12 months+ minimum in work from Education exit.
- Minimum grade B/6 in Maths and English Language at GCSE (or the equivalent IB). Strong A Levels.
- Telesales experience ideal.
- Ambitious and hungry for the sell!
What will you do?
As a Sales Executive in the Marketing Department, you’ll be selling delegate places to hit and exceed both the conference target and your own personal target. You will need to be commercially minded, excited about getting in delegate bookings and have a fantastic eye for detail as you will manage the entire delegate ticket acquisition cycle, from prospecting to pitching to closing, PLUS:
- Communicating with senior executives via phone, email and social media. Initiating, building and managing client relationships – delighting our customers! 42%
- Writing compelling and irresistible copy and marketing campaigns - 10%
- Sourcing and building new databases of leads and potential new clients in line with various sectors and markets - 10%
- Working with sponsors, speakers and partners to promote the conference - 8%
- Sourcing and building relationships with new media and data partners and set up contra deals - 6%
- Being in charge of the networking room on the day to ensure a smooth running of your event - 4%
- Creating your own multi-channel marketing campaigns and performance analysis (email, content, SEO, social media, direct, media partnerships etc) - 10%
- Website creation and management, with SEO best practices and performance monitoring - 10%
Skill set requirements:
- Managing timelines, deadlines and revenue generation for multiple marketing campaigns cross-sector.
- Researching and understanding new markets and buy/sell side dynamics.
- Upselling, cross-selling and forward selling to maximise your earnings.
- Inter-departmental collaboration, briefing and overall project management to maximise lead generation.
- Optimising cross-marketing opportunities between products.
What is expected from me?
- Working more independently, you will be expected to sell at least 12 events annually, managing your own campaigns.
- High revenue averages a month. Hitting deadlines and targets.
- Driving retaining current clients.
- Increase in number of events, yields, call rates (100+ calls per week).
- Organising 1-2-1 meetings.
- Increased independence with client handling and going the extra mile for customer service.
- Professional proposals and approaches.
