About the role:
The position is based at our Shoreham Office managing volunteers that work pan-Sussex to support victims and witnesses of crime. The hours are full-time, 37.5 per week, working Monday to Friday. We offer a hybrid contract meaning flexibility to work both from the office and from home.
As a Volunteer Manager you will:
- Undertake recruitment activities in order to attract potential volunteers to Victim Support.
- Develop and manage a cohort of volunteers who contribute to the service.
- Oversee new volunteer accreditation, regular supervisions and annual reviews in line with VS policies.
- Ensure volunteers work within existing safeguarding policies and procedures, data protection and information security, confidentiality policies, lone worker policies and other relevant policies.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships through good communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
You will need:
- Experience of recruiting, training and developing people
- Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively both verbally and in writing with a wide range of people with different needs.
- Ability to work without direct supervision, prioritise work and deal with competing or conflicting demands/ needs and interests in an organised and methodical manner
