Job Description

Nursing Associate (NA)

The Nursing Associate is a highly trained support role to deliver effective, safe and responsive nursing care in and across a wide range of health and care settings. Nursing Associates work independently and with others, under the leadership and direction of a Registered Nurse within defined parameters, to deliver care in line with an agreed plan.

Training Providers: Truro and Penwith College

Duration: 24 months

Eligibility criteria: GCSE Level pass in English and Maths or Functional Skills Level 2, Level 3 preferably in Health and Care.

Programme Overview:
As a NA apprentice you will spend 15 hours a week working as a Healthcare Support Worker, if full time, and 22.5 hours within your paid contracted hours studying towards the apprenticeship. Please note that when on placements these will be for 37.5 hours per week.

The successful applicant will need to work in excess of 30 hours a week and once agreed to be supported by the care group, the candidate will need to undertake the necessary selection process with Learning and Development to secure their place on the Nurse Associate course. This is a new and exciting opportunity to pilot a new role within Critical care and Enhanced Perioperative Care Unit following the guidance and standards of the Critical care Network funded by Health Education England. On completion of this course and training the successful candidates will be required to apply for a substantive positions with the Trust.
