Royalty Services (UK) have an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance and people manager to join them on a full-time permanent basis.
This role is responsible for leading the Rights teams to ensure that where we have sub-licensed publishing rights, the contracts are set up correctly in the system and the Licensee’s statements and payments reflect the contractual terms and are processed accurately and efficiently.
We are looking for someone with excellent attention to detail and great communication as this position liaises with our Licensees and stakeholders across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Learn all aspects of rights contracts, statement and income processing and credit control to be an expert in this area

Work with the team leaders to review processes and ensure that tasks are carried out accurately and efficiently. This includes reviewing workload and KPIs and producing statistics for business review

Attend regular meetings with other stakeholders including right’s sales colleagues and finance colleagues in the London offices

Ensure that all processes are documented and kept up to date and that tasks have adequate cover within the teams

Work with the other managers to ensure that the Author’s periodic accounting is accurate

Reconcile rights cash processed on a daily basis

Review and action exception reports such as tax calculations and write offs

Work closely with the Rights Audit Analysts to identify and contact licensees for audit, provide support for any data issues, liaise with licensees for any queries and approve final audit reports

Promote a positive and collaborative working environment with a hands-on approach

Play an active role in change management within the department

Carry out performance reviews for direct reports and organise training and personal development across the department to meet individual and business needs

Carry out absence management interviews including monitoring where necessary

Recommend changes to existing methods of working where efficiency, accuracy and reporting could be improved

Promote Continuous Improvement, including efficiency of team workflows and support staff to embrace change

This role will also play an active part in any projects affecting the department. This may include audit recommendations, acquisitions and system improvements
What you’ll bring:
Essential:
Proven management skills within a large finance team-
Audit analysis experience
- Can demonstrate previous experience in continuous improvement, able to identify opportunities for improving working practices and business systems

Proven change management skills within a medium to large scale project

Excellent communication and people skills with strong collaborative and influencing characteristics
-
Able to work to a high standard of accuracy and can prioritise workloads effectively to meet deadlines and targets
- Microsoft Office in particular Excel, Word and Outlook

Experience of royalty and rights calculations or a similar function such as sales ledger or credit services

An accounting qualification or qualified by experience
