As an executive non-departmental public body, we are an independent national regulator, recognised as an authority on equality and human rights law, evidence and analysis.

Our job is to help make Britain a fairer and more inclusive place where no one is held back by discrimination or barriers to opportunity. We do this by safeguarding and enforcing the laws that protect people’s rights to fairness, dignity and respect. We bring people together to create change. We work with employers, governments and a wide range of organisations, to promote understanding of equality and human rights and support them to make improvements in practice.

As the Commission’s Deputy Chief Executive, they will deputise for Chief Executive as required, and will represent the Commission externally, promoting positive and productive relationships with a large range of diverse stakeholders, including Government and our sponsor department.
