Looking to start a career within a fast-paced industry which is rewarding and secure? At DFDS, we have an opportunity for a Customs Compliance Apprentice to join us working Monday to Friday, 8:00 – 17:00, at our site in Immingham.

The ideal candidate would have qualifications in mathematics and English to support data checking and dialogue with customers and ministerial departments of the UK GOV. You’ll need to be confident enough to be vocal with new ideas – we’re always looking for better, more effective ways of working so we love to hear your thoughts.
Responsibilities:
- Scanning correspondence from HMRC and archiving
- Updating reports with status changes of customs infringements
- Assisting Compliance Officer to resolve customs queries.
- Retrieving paperwork
- Investigating
- Assisting Compliance Officer to quality check customs declarations ensuring correct information has been transmitted to HMRC
- Assisting Compliance Officer to check physical warehouse stock matches with HMRC records.
- Liaising directly with HMRC regarding amendments to customs declarations submitted by our customs team.
- Working with Data within Excel sheets looking for anomalies to be investigated.
- Creating compliance reports to highlight findings back to staff.
- Assisting Compliance Officer with reports to senior management with regards to infringements.
